Hiking on the island of Gozo is one of the most relaxing and rewarding activities and has its special charm.
The main season for hiking is our mild winter months from October to May as the island is lush and covered with colourful flowers and scented wild herbs. Bees are humming and migrating birds like honey buzzards and harriers can be seen.
It is warm enough to enjoy lunch outside and watch the bustling life of Victoria or admire the sea view in a romantic fishing village.
Gozo has an endless choice of walks and hikes. The island offers one of the most diverse histories in Europe with temples and caves dating from Neolithic man, wonderful churches as well as markets and historic sites in the capital, Victoria.
If you are looking for peace and quiet, there are a number of hiking routes that will take you along the rugged cliffs and winding valleys of Gozo with stunning scenery and local treasures. A boat can take you to Comino to explore Gozo’s smaller sister island.
Gozo Adventures can arrange a private guide for your individual hiking holiday on Gozo or can supply you with one of their maps with marked hiking routes to explore the island on your own.
